I was at Office Depot today looking for some desk organizing equipment and some new cocaine scales and stumbled upon a few new tools that must have been designed with law students in mind:
I actually saw this in The Container Store first and immediately ran to Office Depot to find it cheaper. For $3.99 you get a fat highlighter that has Post-it sticky flags built right in. (It also comes with two flag refills. Talk about value.) I initially thought that it was a pen-style flag applicator, but it's more of a pen-mounted flag dispenser. Still, it's the single best all-in-one tool for tricking out your copy of the UCC or the Model Penal Code, and is great for anyone that likes to go hardcore on their casebooks as well. Admittedly, it's not very cost effective since the highlighter will probably run out before the flag supply does. But this isn't about economic efficiency. It's about the Economics of Badassness. If only it had a built-in coffee mug.
Avery Retractable Highlighters
I like these even more. They're a tad bulky, and the action is necessarily resistance-heavy due to a mechanism that keeps the tip from drying out, but I've been whining about the absence of this product for a whole year and now it's here. Ideal for one-handed law students.
You are such a tool.
The end.
