Despite my pathetic output as of late (something I'm working on, btw...I'll have a big piece coming out as a part of the De Novo symposium this week, and I hope to get a nice work of serial fiction started running sometime this week as well), I've seen a small spike in activity due to the fact that I show up fairly high on a Google search for "naked Russian gymnasts," which has recently overtaken "Tipper Gore's Nipples" as the number-one search term of choice for fans of the blog.
I feel, however, that I should clear something up. It's not actually Russian gymnasts that I like--it's the Belarusians. I did have a crush on several members of the 1992 Unified Team, but it turns out that they were all Belarusians, too. First among them: the incomparable Svetlana Boginskaya, after whom I lusted both before and after the final dissolution of the Soviet gymnastics squad, and both before and after she sunk countless rubles into dental work.
So, yeah. Belarusians, not Russians. Sorry. Just needed to clear that up.
Boginskaya: yuck. There are much hotter gymnasts than her.
