I'd like to know how long you're supposed to wait until after you get an offer from a firm. I mean, it used to be 3 weeks was standard, but now I think it's kinda money to wait 5 weeks.

The link seems to be talking about callback offers, not summer associate position offers. Once the firm makes the offer, you can't really "scare it off." Even if you get drunk at their reception and throw a chicken skewer toward the trash but hit a partner. I hope.
